Airborne Data Converter Ethernet Switch Control Panel Aviation EquipmentThe Stores Remote Interface Unit (SRIU) serves as the interface between the payloads on the aircraft and the flight control computer and power distribution units. SRIU transfers discrete or analog signals to be transmitted to payloads by communicating with the flight control computer over serial communication channels. SRIU controls the electrical power supply needed by the payloads by controlling the power distribution unit according to the commands it receives from the flight control computer. However, the SRIU does not act as a power source in providing electrical power to payloads.

SRIU provides the electrical and firmware requirements specified in the MIL-STD-1760C and MIL-STD-704E standards. The SRIU has a dual-redundant 1553 bus, 4 configurable RS-422/485 lines, 75 discrete output channels and 10 discrete input channels. The discrete inputs of the SRIUs is designed to be isolated from each other. An error or malfunction occurring in any discrete channel does not affect other channels. The SRIU operates at a nominal voltage of 28V. The SRIU shall have hold-up capability against power interruptions as defined in MIL-STD-704E.

Electronic Circuit Breaker Unit/Power Distribution Unit also utilizes WoW (Weight on Wheel) logic, extensive Built-In-Test capabilities and I2T logic.
